ACTBOT

2016

ACTBOT id a design fiction that proposes to extend political agency through robots that could support (and/or replace) the presence of bodies in collective manifestations.  This controversial idea could be seen by some as a form of armchair activism, yet the potential empowerment of assisted political action could be both a real market and a game changer in the way human groups do politics, revealing another potential face of automation. The issues of ownership of technology, however, depend on the capacity of users to make or buy these devices.
