Birds don't have lips

In the project Birds Don’t Have lips, my collaborator Kiran Bhattacharyya and I explored the poetic relationships between a) a procedural language to describe and simulate plant growth (L-Systems), b) synthetic voice technologies such as Amazon Polly, and c) the study of bird speech patterns by computational neuroscientists. Our research and collaboration took the form of an Open Processing code to build your own dancing flower, and a video shown at the Nightingale in Chicago.
